In the Making! Before & After Photos

"Flutterby" Workshop at The Beetroot Tree on 10th March 2012.

A quick photo of the students "test pieces", quick tiles or hangings which will be taken out of the kiln after the lunch break, enabling everyone to get some idea just how things can change when fired to just over 840°c

I often set my students off in the morning with pre cut pieces of glass and tubs of bits and bobs.  We sandwich metal inclusions into abstract patterns, designs and imagery. Next, we add small amounts of coloured glass frit, rods or powder and then I fire them in my Skutt Firebox, portable kiln. Firing in approx 25 minutes and cooling, naturally, in around 2.5 hours.
